Bo and Ryan -- I really enjoyed this podcast. Lots of great information -- loved the interview.

I also liked the discussion part at the beginning of the podcast where you read the letter, and talked about things that happen in your clubs, and other clubs you know about. 

The interviews are always great, but I wouldn't be opposed to a few minutes of each podcast devoted to sharing ideas about different things to do in your club or shared solutions to club problems.  

I am so glad you had Katherine Wertheim on your podcast. I have been trying to write a speech for my organization and practice on my club, but had no idea where to start. This podcast is full of information on getting started, some great dos and don'ts. I hope Ms Wertheim will write a book because there is definitely a need. Current books on the subject are so vague and general that there is no real information.

Wow! Dwayne Smith was so amazing. I always listen to the podcast, because I am constantly trying to improve and perfect my skill. This interview really opened my eyes. I was especially shocked when Ryan said ...igroops member "Sherita Searcy." Okay, I have to admit, that got my blood pumping. I was excited. Smile. But, overall it was a very informative podcast that I am sure I will be listening to over again -- to take more accurate notes. Thanks so much guys.

Re: Being in Many Clubs - Last year I went overtime in one club before representing another club and going back to Region only to be shot down by Robert Killen (He had to shoot me because my leg was already hurt - shades of Barbaro). I had been a member of both clubs for over a year, however. What I think borders on fraud are members who join just to compete, and don't actually show up for anything else. Don't know if anyone has actually done this, or if its one of those worries (like, if we don't have a six speech rule, Zig Ziglar will enter the contest and win, and, like, thats against the spirit of Toastmasters) that doesn't actually occur.

But, as one of my early mentors told me, every rule exists because at one time, not having the rule caused a problem somewhere, sometime.

This year I'm in two clubs, but only competed at one - Metro #719 - my original club, now that I've moved back to Utah. But had I gone overtime, or lost outright, I would have had no qualms about competing at Olympic Orators, a club I joined in January, but attended since November. I go, I evaluate, I do the "minor" roles - so feel as if I would have earned the right to compete there if I chose.

We have one guy in our district who actually plans the "path of least resistance" based on which Areas and Divisions he thinks are easier to win. He has gone as high as Division with his speeches, but they are usually very, very weak.
