Spring Newsletter GOD IS NOT YOUR PROBLEM John 10:10 Amplified Bible says, “The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows). God is not your problem; the devil is. What has been destroyed or stolen from you? What or who has been killed in your life? There is a pervasive attitude in the church that God causes certain destruction in order for you to come closer to him. Nothing is further from the truth. God draws you through his love. Listen, I’m a father of three children. I would not a bit more cause a tragic circumstance to come upon one of my precious ones because of their disobedience, and under the premise of drawing them closer to me than I would place my hand in a pit with five cobras. Well bless God how much more would Love not do the terrible things to his children that he has been accused. There are four main reasons why tragedy happens to Christians. 1. The words that they speak are contrary to the Word of God. Proverbs 6:2 says, “You are snared by the words of your own mouth.” There is a spiritual law based upon Mark 11:23, which is, what ever you say out of your mouth and believe it in your heart and don’t doubt, you will have what ever you say. Now this law will work for you or it will work against you. It’s up to you. 2. Failure to follow or obey God’s leading. Romans 8:14 says, “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God”. God who is in his children leads them by the inward witness. One may be impressed to go this way or do this thing well, we must follow that leading. How many have said or heard someone say, “Something told me not to do that or not to go there. Well, that was God trying to lead into another direction. 3. Sin Romans 6:23 says, “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” No one has the right to believe that they can rebel against God and still come into his blessings. 4. Failure to utilize their authority Jesus said in Matthew 28:18,19, “All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth, go (you) therefore………….. Once again Jesus said in Luke 10:19, “Behold I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” We in the Body of Christ have the authority to stop the forces of darkness from working in the lives of our families, on our jobs, in our homes, and in our bodies. Many times we go to God to do something when it’s our job to take care of the situation. Remember the story about Paul’s Thorn in the flesh (a messenger of Satan)? Well, there was no need for Paul to go to God three times about because he had the authority to stop the devil from messing with him praise the Lord. Never blame God when certain mishaps occur in your life. Always look at yourself and see how you missed it. Well, I sure do love you and God loves you more than you will ever know.
