ABOUT OUR PASTOR

Dr. Larry E. Thomas was born and raised in Durham, North Carolina and is one of twelve children born to the late Herbert and Pastor Mamie Thomas.  He is married to the lovely Patricia Fearrington and they are the proud parents of three children Sonnia, Rena and Mark.  He received his B.A. degree from Shaw University in Raleigh, North Carolina and his Jurisit Doctor degree from North Carolina Central University School of Law, in Durham, North Carolina.

He was associated with the law firm of Fellers & Link and was recruited by the North Carolina Department of Insurance to assist in implementing their new, Market Conduct Surveillance Division, within the Department.  The division rose to national prominence under Dr. Thomas' leadership and became a model program for other states throughout the nation.  He became the first in the nation to chair a Joint Market Conduct Surveillance Investigation, which was conducted in Chicago, IL with the states of Missouri and North Carolina participating.  Moreover, he was appointed by the National Association of Insurance Commissioners to represent the interests of the states of North Carolina, Florida, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, Delaware and Maryland in a special investigation conducted in Boston, Massachusetts.

Dr. Thomas is the recipient of the Nash Professional Award, presented by Bridge Pointe Foundation and Son of Consolation Award, presented by Christian Faith Center of Creedmoor, Inc.

He received Jesus as his Lord and Savior in 1979 and received the Baptism in the Holy Spirit in 1980 after which he acquired an insatiable appetite for the things of God.  Dr. Thomas along with his wife, Patirica, furthered their spiritual education by graduating from the Bread from Heaven Bible School, in Creedmoore, North Carolina, through which they were both licensed and ordained into the ministry.

They faithfully served in various positions in the church's multi faceted ministry under the pastorate of Bishop Mack and Brenda Timberlake Jr. of Christian Faith Center, Inc. of Creedmoor, North Carolina for seventeen years and were jointly promoted by God as area coordinators in the church's convenant care group program.  Dr. Thomas also served as the ministry's Executive Administrator.

Dr. Thomas, along with his wife Patricia, were commissioned by God through the laying on hands by their Bishop to go out into ministry.  Consequently Dr. Thomas served as the associate pastor of Heaven's Light Christian Center and was later moved by the spirit of God to establish, along with his wife Patricia, Abundant Grace Christian Center, Inc. in September 2003.  His desire is for the people of God to rise to their true potential and calling that God has placed upon their lives by becoming students of the Bible and living the Word of God.
