James J. Marks – Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Founder

James Marks was solely responsible for the development and creation of Background Info USA.  He has over ten years of experience in pre-employment screening and background checks.  Mr. Marks is an active member of SHRM (Society of Human Resource Management), an active member of ASA (American Staffing Organization), and an active contributor to MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving).  Prior to starting Background Info USA, Mr. Marks was a senior executive at both MCI and AT&T.  He is a graduate from Rowan University (previously Glassboro State University) where he obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management.    

Lauren L. Meehan – Chief Technology Officer (CTO)

Lauren Meehan has over 22 years of experience in management and technology.  Ms. Meehan has been the Senior Vice President of Background Info USA since January 2001.  Previously, she has worked for numerous large corporations including Computer Associates, Platinum Technology Inc. (acquired by Computer Associates), and Allied-Signal as well as several venture capital funded start-ups such as Enterworks, Concurrent Computer Corporation, and Cohera Corporation (acquired by PeopleSoft now Oracle).  Lauren was also instrumental in the success of American Power Conversion (APC) for five years, during which time the company’s stock doubled and split every year for five consecutive years.  In addition, Ms. Meehan also worked as an Electrical Engineer for the United States Army Communications-Electronics Communications Command (CECOM) for two years.  Lauren Meehan is a graduate of Monmouth University, where she received both an M.B.A. and a Bachelor of Science degree in Electronic Engineering.

Michael M. Mastro – Chief Operations Officer (COO)

Michael Mastro joined Background Info USA in June 2006.  He has over three decades of operational and marketing experience in a variety of industries including corporate, retail, and professional services.  In addition, Michael has also been responsible for several successful start-up companies.  Mr. Mastro attended Monmouth University and holds degrees in Business Management and Computer Science.

Scott P. Fuller – Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Scott Fuller brings a lifetime of accounting and financial management experience to Background Info USA.  Mr. Fuller began his career in accounting at KPMG.  After numerous advancements with increasing levels of responsibility, he moved into private industry where he worked for several start-up companies as the CFO.  Mr. Fuller graduated from Rutgers University where he holds an M.B.A. and also a B.S. in Business with a concentration in Accounting. 

John R. Foster – Chief Legal Officer (CLO) and Compliance Expert

John Foster Jr. has served as Background Info USA’s Chief Legal Officer and Compliance Expert for the past five years.  Prior to Background Info USA, Mr. Foster worked as Legal Counsel for Boeing Aerospace and also for several private law firms.  Mr. Foster is a graduate of Rutgers University and also Seton Hall Law School.
