EVENT: THE CLAN RAMSAY 2011 POT LUCK PICNIC WEEKEND
PLACE: DAVID MACHATTIE’S, 691 BROOKLYN RD., MIDDLETON
DATE: SATURDAY & SUNDAY - AUGUST 13-14, 2011
DIRECTIONS TO DAVID MACHATTIE’S IN MIDDLETON:
FROM HALIFAX AND AREA: Hwy # 102 to Bedford. Exit 4B onto Hwy 101 to Middleton, Exit 18 turn right onto Brooklyn STREET (about one block) turn left onto Brooklyn ROAD.
Approximately one mile to 691 Brooklyn Road, Dave’s Farm (Barn at road on right side) long driveway up to house.
FROM TRURO: Hwy 102 to Bedford, Exit 4B. Same directions as Halifax. (approximately 2 hr drive from Truro less from Halifax)
PEOPLE WEST OF MIDDLETON: Come up to Exit 18 and follow same directions. Watch for signs.
WEEKEND FESTIVITIES
Saturday, August 13th, 2011 at 2:00 p.m.
We meet up at Muir Murray Estate Winery, 90 Dyke Rd., Wolfville NS (542-0343)for a winery tour and product sampling. No charge for the first five samples, then taster pays a nominal fee per sample. For those not interested in the tour ....a tearoom is available. Travelling East on Hwy 101, take exit 11, follow the grape signs thru Wolfville on #1. Turn left at Dyke Rd. Travelling West on # 101, take exit 10 and follow grape signs along # 1 for 2 km. Turn right on Dyke Rd.
Saturday, August 13th approximately 4:30 p.m. after the Winery Tour
Everyone heads over to The MacHattie’s in Middleton to set up their tents, or check into the motel. David has been able to get a discount for members and their guests at two motels in Middleton .
Fundy Spray Motel, 443 Main St. 902-825-3424 $65.00 + HST per night

NEXT on the agenda: BARBECUE at Valley View Provincial Park (near Bridgetown) This is a bring your own food barbecue. Tables have been reserved for us and David will take a barbecue. I hear it has a great view but one might want to take along some bug spray.
Following the Valley View Barbeque and gathering we head out to Annapolis Royal to meet at Fort Anne. If time permits, you will be on your own to take a leisurely tour of the town or check out the historical gardens. However you should be at Fort Anne between 9:00-9:15 p.m. for the tour
9:30 p.m. Fort Anne Historical Graveyard Tour
This is a guided tour and lanterns will be provided for everyone. Attendees cover a personal cost of $5.00. (payable to Elsie or Wayne Turner) All fees support the Annapolis Royal Historical Society.
Following the Graveyard Tour (approx 1 hr) everyone heads back to their overnight accommodations;-tent, home, cottage, motel.

8:30-9:30 a.m. –Group Breakfast at the MacHattie’s.
