Thanks for Joining us at our August 2011 Gathering

Was that a great time or what? We met up in Wolfville at the Muir Murray Estate Winery and enjoyed a Winery Tour along with some wine tasting. I suspect many of us will be enjoying a glass or two of Muir Murray Estate Winery's treasures while recalling the time we shared together over the weekend.
From Wolfville we headed out to David and Teresa's home outside Middleton. There some set up their tents, while others checked into their hotel-motel weekend accomodations. Time flashed by faster than our scheduled event plans allowed. Our BYOM Barbecue took place at David and Teresa's. YES I enjoyed my three (3) ball park dogs! Did I waddle away hungry? NOT A CHANCE! I suspect everyone enjoyed the fruits of the Barbecue along with some great salads. The CHIPS were GOOD TOO! Does it show that I don't get them often?
From David and Teresa's we drove to Annapolis Royal's Fort Anne taking the scenic route following David's lead. We discovered some great scenic sights along the way. Do I now how I got to Fort Anne? Not a clue. Did I enjoy the ride absolutely!
At Fort Anne we were greeted by our host and tour guide Alan Melanson. The weather was fantastic warm breezes and a starlit sky. We all got our candlelit lanterens and Alan welcomed us to our history graveyard tour. He explained in detail the history of his attire, then led us off toward the graveyard.
The tour was fantastic. I continue to get positive feedback from everone. Alan has been conducting these tours for 19 years and has mastered his presentations. His person, attire, vocal delivery and body language are amazing. He held everyone's full attention throughout our tour. I will be sending Alan thanks on behalf of our Clan Ramsay Association of Nova Scotia shortly. I encourage everyone to take a moment and send him a short personal thank you note. It is definitely a tour I'd recommend to family and friends. I've pasted a link to the tour's web-site below.

Following the tour we returned to Middleton and our motel-hotels, tents, or beds ... tired but thoroughly amazed with the good-times shared together.
Morning came early and we awoke to another day of sunshine. Our group breakfast chased away all hints of hunger. David and Teresa teamed up to demonstrate pancake massproduction 101 along with a side of french-toast. With Elsie's guidence I managed to fire up a batch or two of sausages, bacon and scrambled-eggs-omelettes your call. Needless to say ... if anyone walked away hunger it was not an easy task.
Many more joined us as breakfast shifted into our Pot-Luck Barbecue and another amazing array of food appeared before our eyes. Regets.? Yes! The main course was SO GOOD I forgot about dessert! Wow! That was a misstake. After the main barbecue overings disappeared, the table was cleared and a mind boggling array of desserts appeared. It was difficult but I managed to respect the efforts of those who baked those amazing temptations. And yes I did visit the dessert table more than once.
With much difficulty we parted ways and headed home to Lower Sackville. This years gathering was defititely the best I've ever been a party too! We thoghoughly enjoyed the events and good times shared.
Special thanks to David and Teresa MacHattie our hosts, I won't stop there! Thanks to everyone that attended and shared our August 2011 Gathering. Amazingly each year seems to be getting better.
Thanks ... Cheers ... Congratulations ... A great time was shared by many amid some fantastic company. Looking forward to next year's Gathering.
