INSURANCE FOR YOUR CAMERA GEAR If you are interested in insuring your photographic equipment against damage or theft while it's at home or out on the road, AA Insurance and PFM can both give you details of very cost effective policies to cover this and your home contents including computers and the like. Average cost for a year is 4 - 6,000 baht depending on the value of your stuff and at least one CMPG member wishes he'd taken some out after last year's presentation on insurance. Call AA on 053 230 127 or Andrew Williams of PFM on 0870 520 389.
STUFF TO BORROW We have track lighting and clip on lights, backgrounds, display boards and a small light tent available for members who regularly attend meetings to borrow at very moderate terms. For details, PM Wyndham by following the link to Private Messaging below.
Check out the latest news about the new CMPG Discount Card here and if you don't have one yet just ask at the next meeting!

With promised write speeds of up to 80MB/s and read speeds up to 95MB/s, the new Toshiba SDHC UHS-I memory cards, to be available in 8GB, 16GB and 32GB capacities, have been proclaimed by the company as the world's fastest.
Panasonic has announced 8GB and 16GB SDHC cards that are promised to deliver 60MB/s read speeds (no specific write speed data has been given). The new memory cards utilize the faster UHS-I bus interface in achieving quicker throughput. As of this writing, no shipping or announced Canon or Nikon digital SLR supports UHS-I.
