I just finished the Funeral Celebrants course with In-Sight Books and Doug Manning and Glenda Stansbury.

I was very inspired and it was wonderful to be with like minded people - that is, those that believe that the funeral is the first step in the grieving process. As a funeral director it is up to us to make sure that if your family choose to have a sevice it should be the most meaningful possible. Giving them the choice of a funeral Celebrant can be a way to do this.

There were many interesting ideas that will make me a better funeral director. More presence for the family- not just dropping them off a the front of the chapel and hoping for the best......why not be there for them as you have been throughout- the safe presence that has been there from the beginning of their journey.

I would appreciate any commens on how you have used Celebrants or funeral directors that have become Celebrants and how that has changed the way you are as a funeral director.
