Contemplation: Resting in Christ

poem by Peter Menkin

Seeking Christ,
I rest in His strength
during contemplation.
Sometimes,
my mind is like so many
thoughts, monkeys going
on about busy business,
that I must quiet it.

Resting in Christ,
is a help; each day
I open myself
to the Lord, and listen,
aware
yet still,
sensing His
perfection.

Pursuit of God,
some call this.
Funny pursuit,
waiting on the Lord.
