Here's my take on one of the most disturbing stories that ever turns up in the Bible - when Abraham hears God telling him to go and make a human sacrifice of his son, Isaac (Genesis 22). This story raises one of the fundamental religious questions - some would say THE fundamental religious question - namely, how can you know when it is God that is talking to you and not another voice?
