Is Remarriage really Adultery (Mark 10:11-12)
Jesus said to them, “Whoever divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery against her and if she divorces her husband and marries another, she commits adultery.” Why is it that the most judgemental, self-righteous, intolerant and unsympathetic people always seem to be church members? Well, perhaps it all starts here, in this passage in Mark 10, in the apparently inflexible, intolerant and judgemental statements of Jesus Himself - that marriage is forever and that ‘whoever divorces his or her partner and marries another commits adultery against them‘!, or perhaps Jesus has been completely misunderstood.
