The Failure of the Resurrection! (Luke 16:19-31) 

"Even if someone should rise from the dead they will not believe" (Luke 16:31).

So says Jesus Himself in a parable about riches and poverty that otherwise doesn't seem to have anything to do with the topic of resurrection!

Even so, what's the point of Jesus' resurrection if it doesn't convince anybody of the truth?  And why bring it up at all in this story? Surely this is one of Jesus' most unsettling parables!
