I notice that most people take portrait photos that are taller than they are wide.
For the member directory, why was the landscape mode selected for uploading photos, when the more obvious portrait mode is appropriate?
Yes, in a photo gallery you will have more wide photos than tall, but in a directory I think the opposite is true.

So then why isn't your picture horizontal on this forum? Did you not use a digital camera?
This does not compute.

That's cool, but when I did that on my member photo it stretched it to fit the forced aspect ratio. The picture was distorted until I edited the photo a 3rd time to create a fake background to compensate for this anamoly.
Seems like a lot of work to post a simple photo when the point of this wonderful service is to make life easy for admins.
And in our case with 22 members it is far too much work to ask one admin to do.
You never really warn people about this until they bump into it by accident because I suspect they are all like me and expect there photo will show them sitting up and not lying down.
Why not give people the choice. At the very least not accept the upload if it isn't made correctly. You know that is just one script to fix.
Hi Brian
With regard to the horizontal photo size being 200 x 150 - which is fine for photos on the website, please advise what dimensions should be used for the vertical photo? so it doesn't distort (for the members photos).
