I will be VPE next term for our club (Mason Town Criers - #5008) and want to improve information sharing between club officers. I want to use automation techniques, if possible, to maintain reliable data while simplifying the officer’s roles so more volunteers won’t be intimidated by the technology or time requirements of the role. Toastmaster International’s web site provides an “Export to Excel” function that enables officers to download “official” membership data. With only some basic modifications to the data, this data could be imported into software used by individual clubs. Two popular choices are the Club Scheduler and the freetoasthost web site. Club Scheduler already has an import / export function, but does freetoasthost provide similar functionality? Has anyone pursued automating data transfer from TI's web site to FTH's web site, especially since TI owns the FTH site? Should the web sites be redesigned to use XML technology to improve integration?

I have moved this request into the suggestion forum. At this time FTH does not have any export /import facilities. The majority of FTH users are computer neofites and FTH is their intorduction to being a webmaster.

How can I help to make that suggestion happen? Whether they are computer neophites or not, I would think less people would be intimidated by the officer roles with simpler tasks. I read in another post that most of FTH data is in many small files in the member or admin section. If I can get the syntax of the file, I can write a program to convert CSV to that format.

Officially, there is no export. As far as I've been able to make happen, there is also no import. However... poke around in the "admin" and "member" directories under your club's URL, and you may find several files of interest. Note that you should NOT depend on these files always staying in the same format, but in the meantime, you can have some fun with them. ;-)
