hi , i would like change our web sites url,

it is http://kh.freetoasthost.ws.

i tried to change it to http:www.khtoastmaster.org

but when i try to display www.khtoastmaster.org , there is nothing.

how can i do it?

1) Yes you can use your own domain name

2) You have to purchase your own domain name from a domain registrar, there are thousands, a good one is godaddy.com

3) One you have bought your domain name you need to change the name server at the registrar as stated on your site admin page.

Thanks Brian that answered part of the question I had. That part in the instructions which read:

"If you do this, change the name servers used at your domain registrar to "NS1.freetoasthost.ws" and "NS2.freetoasthost.ws"."

I was confused by which name servers. My DNS servers being provided by my ISP of course. But also confirming there is or may be a cost involved in getting the custom name.

1. It's not a freebie through FTH.
2. Work with a company outside of FTH for this.

Followup:

If we do change the URL, does the old URL of .../freetoasthost.ws still work ?

Some of our printed material has that on it.

1) How you set up the domain depends on what you want to do. Usually People change the name servers at the registrar and use our dns. You can choose to use another dns but you will have to contact them on how to set things up.

2) Custom domains have to be purchased through a registrar they are not provided by FTH

3) Yes http://northshoretmc.freetoasthoast.ws will continue to work.

hi brain,

i have managed to redirect www.khtoastmasters.com address to our club website kh.freetoasthost.ws and in the admin area, i also changed clubs web site address to khtoastmasters.com.

i can access to our website thru www.khtoastmasters.com but email addresses i assigned for officers dont work .

i am assuming i have to do further modifications.

what am i supposed to do next?

1) You did not point your domain to the name servers specified on your site admin page.

2) You are using a forwarder to get to your fth site

3) setup this way with the forwarder the fth server does not see the email at all. You would have to do the mail lists and forwarders at your registrar.
