Is there a way to allow the members of my iGroops profiles be visible to others on the Internet. Maybe I missed something but I don't see if that's possible. I am trying to link for other websites to specific groop members profiles. |

Hi Tom,
Yes, you can display your member profile publicly. The member MUST edit his or her profile and select the "allow my name, photo, and bio to be public" option. This is in the first section of the edit profile screen.
You can also set a custom URL for the public profile following the steps in this support post: http://www.igroops.com/members/ids/blog/VIEW/00000001/00000210/Public-Profile-Option.html
Hope that helps! |

Sean,
I am the co-administrator to Tom's group (the Society of Professional Locksmiths.)
I just went to our site and brought up my membership profile and could not locate the "1) for privacy, the member MUST edit his or her profile and select the new "allow my name, photo, and bio to be public" option. This is in the first section of the edit profile screen."
That button does not appear anywhere.
Is there a way of displaying all members without the need of posting their login names? Yes.... everyone! Can we use a wildcard? We would like for the general public to be able to view a listing of our member locksmiths who are legitimate and will not scam them. |

Hey Harvey,
When you click on the link in the top navigation labeled "Your Profile" it will bring you to your detail screen. Click the upper left link to "Update your profile". You will see the section with the checkbox option to allow your profile to be public.
I am not sure I understand your second question. Can you clarify? You are able to display all your members to the public --nickname and real name if desired. If you click on the "members" link (under your nav bar--far right) you will see a tab labeled "Admin Options". Click that and you will see the various options for public/private.
Hope that helps!

Sean,
I'm sorry, my friend, but I must be blind. I do not see the item that you are referring to.

When we set up the url to display our membership to the general public, is there a way to use a wild card instead of
"http://YOURDOMAIN/members/YOURFOLDER+memberspublic+ANY_NAME_FOR _SELECTED_MEMBERS+member1.member2.member3"
so that we don't need to list all 180 + members individually (+member1.member2.member3... etc). If we get new members will they then be included in the listing on the "http://YOURDOMAIN/members..." site. I know that the site would be http://sopl.us/members/yourfolder+...etc.
Thank you in advance for all of your assistance.

Hey Harvey,
My fault...I didn't notice that you are using the "Business" type of membership for all your levels. By default the business level is public so the option for a member to allow their profile to be public does not appear.
When you click on the "Member" link currently your site does not display any members until you do a search. You can change this by clicking the "Admin Options" tab in the Member area and then selecting from the "Default Display Preferences" dropdown.
There isn't a way that I am aware of to link to all your members other than to use the above member link at http://www.igroops.com/members/sopl+members
This will only display at max 100 members but the option for the public to search the membership is available to them on this page. If they click the "stop light" without selecting any search criteria, all of your members will display. This is a database query so the link this full search displays will not serve as an active link you can use.
Hope this helps! |

Sean,
Thank you! I think that with this information, we can come up with a work-around.
You mention that only 100 members will display when clicking on the "stoplight," well, check this out.

Thanks again.

Hi Harvey,
To clarify I meant that a maximum of 100 members will display automatically by default when someone goes to your members page. If you click on the stoplight you are essentially doing a search for all members/all criteria so all 185 of your members will display--to a maximum of 250 members.
Nicely done site by the way...and congratulations on the number of active members!
Best,
