Posting for Future Dates

With the blog application, you can now set your posts for future dates.  This is great a great time saver, also great for when you are "in the writing mode".

To schedule your posts, simply choose the date you want the post to appear in the "scheduled post" field bly clicking the "choose date" link.  A calendar window will pop open and you can then choose the date.

The scheduled post field is an invisible form entry box, meaning you can also type the date in directly without calling the calendar.  Not sure why you would do this, but you can, if you want!

Some points to consider about posting in the future:

• all future posts will appear at midnight, Eastern time (server time) on the date scheduled
• there is no time associated with scheduled posts -- they will show up as midnight
• on the day the posts appear, they will also then show in featured (if selected) and the digest (if activated)
• only the owner of the blog can see future posts by browsing the blogs -- no one else will be able to see the posts until the date the post is scheduled to show up
• you cannot email posts in the future to members
• if you edit posts and set a future date, the timestamp associated with the post will always match the future date
• if using RSS feeds, the post will show up in the RSS feed on the scheduled day
