Q. When I approve a pending post, how can I approve for web post only rather than have sent to the list?

A. As an admin (or officer with admin access), when approving/rejecting a post you will see two approval icons: both checkmarks. One has an envelope which means "approve and mail" and the other has a red "x" which means "approve for web post only".  If the poster of the message selects the option to post on the web only, you will only see one icon: the check icon itself.
