Q. How do I rename a subgroop?A. Enter Communication System and view your forum categories.
Highlight and copy the name of the subgroop you want to rename. E.g., Private Stuff – subgroop by Nickname
Click on Admin Options
Use the “Rename Category” tool. Select the category you wish to rename, then Paste in the original name of the subgroop. Edit the name of the category that you just pasted, making sure to keep “ –subgroop by Nickname” at the end. Save Settings
The category will now show up as a public folder on your Communication System, and the posts from the subgroop will have moved to it. Note: until you complete the process, all of the private subgroop posts will be readable by all those with “Read” access to the Communication System. Not to worry, you can get it “private” again fairly quickly. To do so, you will need to make the category an actual private subgroop again.
Copy ONLY the first part of the name of your new category. E.g., Private Stuff (do NOT include " -subgroop by Nickname)
Click on User Prefs
Paste the name of the category into the “Your Subgroops” box. Then, carefully following the instructions below the box, add in the nicknames of those you wish to be members of the subgroop, following the format specified. Save User Preferences
View the forum categories. If you see your new category listed now as a subgroop, and the posts have moved to it, you can then go back into your User Prefs > Your Private Subgroops, and delete the original subgroop name from the list, which you no longer wish to use.
