Q. Can I transfer ownership of my iGrOOps site?A. Yes, you certainly may! Here is the process for transferring ownership of your iGrOOps site.
First, have the new owner join your site as a regular member. (Do not make them a co-administrator or other member of the admin team; if they already are, please remove them from the admin team). Contact iGrOOps, and let us know that you are transferring ownership of your site, and provide us with the nickname of the new owner. On the back end, we will assign that person as the main administrator, and remove your main admin status.
Next, ensure that the new owner calls our office (978.440.9300) during normal business hours (9-5 Eastern, M-F) with their credit card details, so we can update the account. Once we change the credit card details, the ownership will be officially transferred.
IMPORTANT: It is the original administrator/owner's responsibility to ensure that the new owner calls us with their credit card before the next billing date. The original administrator will continue to remain financially liable for the site until we receive billing information from the new owner, so please do not miss this step.
Keep in mind, if you want recurring revenue to go to the new account owner, simply changing the payment gateway on the account (e.g., entering in a new Authorize.net account or PayPal account for payments to go to) will not do the trick! All NEW revenue will go to the new payment gateway, but all subscriptions created under the ORIGINAL payment gateway will continue going to the original payment gateway. If the group you are transferring has significant recurring revenue, you might wish to look into transferring ownership of the Authorize.net and/or PayPal accounts. Contact Authorize.net and PayPal for assistance.
