What's Your State Of Mind?

Monday, July 28th @ 4:00 PMpost viewed 265 times

Abundance is everywhere. Like Niagara Falls, in its natural state it is a constant flow, plentiful, only diminishing when tampered with. Abundance follows the same principle. It exists for everyone that keeps an open mind and does not diminish the flow. Besides Niagara Falls, can you think of another example of abundance? What about air we breathe? Or perhaps the choices that are ours to make? Both of these abound.

If abundance seems to be missing in your life, what is your current state of mind? Are you addressing all of the things you would like to have but do not? If so, you are perpetuating lack and pushing abundance further from your reality. In the One Minute Millionaire, Mark Victor Hansen and Robert G. Allen provide an exercise designed to help change your state of mind to one of abundance. They suggest that it be done twice a day, just before going to sleep and getting out of bed each morning.

The four statements should not just be repeated, but should be said with belief and conviction:

• I am abundant in every good way

Infinite money is mine to earn, save, invest, exponentially multiply, and share

My abundance is making everyone better off

I embrace abundance and abundance embraces me.

Do you feel the power emanating from these statements? Do you believe them? If you are finding it difficult to accept them, give it time, but continue on with the exercise. It generally takes three to four weeks for a repetitive action to become a habit, and for a belief to "gel". In time the affirmations will become your reality and you will find yourself recognizing abundance all around you.

Can you think of people who have abundance showing up on a regular basis? What do they do to have this always present in their lives? There are many admired celebrities that live the principle of abundance. Take Oprah, for example. One of the wealthiest women in the world who has made the commitment to give back ... The Angel Network, The Book Club, embracing causes and bringing to the forefront things that can help everyone create better lives for themselves and those around them. Oprah has embraced abundance, and clearly she continues to magnetize it. Can we take a life lesson from her? Should we? YES!

Stop buying into the "not enough" principle. There is enough ... more than enough for all of us. It may just take a little effort on your part to change your state of mind from lack to abundance. Don't you think it's worth it?

If you're still sitting on the fence, take out a sheet of paper and write down the things that have been showing up thus far, and the things you believe will show you when you start practicing the abundance principle. Just so you know, you WILL run out of paper as your list will have an infinite number of possibilities that have been just waiting to flow from the tip of your pen. What an awesome habit to pick up, the habit of embracing abundance.

A Whole New Outlook In An Instant

Monday, July 28th @ 3:57 PMpost viewed 186 times

Happiness is often thought of as a state of mind. This assumption is both right and wrong. It is right because when you are happy, you usually have happy thoughts in you mind. You have a positive outlook and your mood is generally elevated. Your outlook on life is one of hope and abundance.

I started by saying the assumption that happiness is a state of mind is both right and wrong. How can it be wrong? If it were just a state of mind, you should be able to will yourself happy at anytime? You should be able to go through life with an eternal smile upon your face, just by willing yourself to be that way. Logically, this does not make sense.

When you have some tragedy befall you in life, you will feel emotions such as sadness, despair, fear or anger. It is not possible to just feel happy. Have you ever heard someone say, “Stop being depressed, just be happy.” So while, happiness is part of the equation, it is not the whole equation. There must be something more.

What I propose is that happiness is a state of BEING. This has to do with perception. You mind constantly gathers information about it environment through your physical senses. Your perception of sight does not exist in your eye it exists in your mind. Your brain takes electrical impulses and translates them to sensory information.

The next thing that your mind does is evaluate that information. Is it a good sensation? A bad sensation? Does the smell of cookies unlock a memory of childhood? It is our perceptions of our environment that elicit certain emotions. These perceptions are unique to the individual.

For instance, suppose the smell of cookies makes you think of home and the holidays. It can be a positive emotion such as happiness that can occur. But let us suppose that it reminds you of your grandmother, who recently passed away. The same sensation can create a feeling of loss and sadness.

If you can change your perception of the world into a positive one, then you can unlock sustaining happiness. Sure, there are moments in life that do not make us happy. If you exist in a state of happiness, other emotions such as sadness will not be so deep and enduring. You will return to your state of happiness much quicker if you cultivate it.

As I am writing this, I am reminded of the monks in Tibet. They spend their entire life, living in a state of happiness and contentment. When you see pictures of the Dali Llama he is usually smiling. If you know anything about the situation in China right now, there are plenty of things for the monks to be afraid of, yet they pray and continue in a state of happiness.

For most of us, meditating and praying all day may not be possible, however when you have moments that can be filled with these things, then you shift towards enduring happiness can occur. Take a few moments each day and think about all the things that you are thankful for. Hold these images in your mind and bask in their glow. Even as the images fade, the feeling will continue to exist in your heart.

It's Never Too Late for A Happy Life

Monday, July 28th @ 3:47 PMpost viewed 70 times

When Nancy overheard her 5 year old daughter Shelby being asked what she ‘wants to be when she grew up’ she paused to listen to her daughter’s lengthy response. She knew the litany by heart. Shelby wanted to be a rock star, a firefighter, a doctor, a vet, and a writer when she grew up. When the asker responded that she couldn’t possibly be all of those things, Nancy laughed. She’d had similar conversations with her daughter and they’d worked it all out. Shelby could be anything she truly desired throughout her life. Nancy did not want to pigeon-hole her into any one profession, because she knew that what one desires at 15, 25, 35, and 55 years of age, are typically not the same thing.

It was later that night, when reflecting on that conversation Nancy thought long and hard about exactly when her passion for her life and livelihood had disappeared. Was it when her ex-husband left and she became the head of the house, or had it just occurred gradually over the years? Whatever the answer, Nancy was not happy and decided then and there to do something about it. Yes, she was older. Yes, she was a single parent, and yes, she had responsibilities that made an immediate change impossible. But both she and Shelby deserved a happy life where both of them were living their visions and not pushing them aside for later – if ever. Nancy took stock of the things she really enjoyed and began envisioning a life where she was able to incorporate more of those things into each day. Each morning before she got out of bed, and each night before she fell asleep she pressed the play button in her mind and visualized a day in her new life – a life full of fun and pure pleasure. Nancy is still working for the same well-paying company she was employed by, but with some additional coursework, has changed departments to one that is much more satisfying. She hasn’t reached her dream yet, but feels confident and joyful that she is on a journey to get there.

Someone said “you cannot have a happy ending if the journey itself was unhappy.” Wouldn’t it be a shame to travel an unhappy lifelong journey? Determine what you love, envision it then follow it. Like Nancy, it may not be an immediate career transformation, envisioning your desires will cause them to manifest someplace in your life where those changes will take root. Your TRUE right livelihood is to be in a joyful balanced life experience. It’s never too late. Start living it today.

Pursuit of Happiness

Monday, July 28th @ 3:46 PMpost viewed 62 times

With International Happiness Day quickly approaching, it made me think about our right to be happy. In the United States Constitution is the right to pursue happiness. I think this is a noble idea, but if that were true why does it seem that some many people are having such a hard time finding it?

If we are pursuing happiness, that means that it must exist somewhere outside ourselves. In this scenario, our life is a treasure hunt, always trying to find that elusive happiness. We have a general idea of what happiness will be like when we find it. We base this feeling upon our experiences; Christmas morning, birthday parties, our first kiss and our wedding day. We can remember how wonderful it felt to be happy.

The truth is that a person can go through a whole life - birth to death - looking for happiness. They can think that it will always be around the next corner. When they get that new job or some other life changing event occurs, happiness seems to be elusive. It is not how they imagined the prize to be and they continue to pursue happiness.

As International Happiness Day grows closer I wanted to let you in on a secret so that you can totally appreciate what this day is all about. Happiness is not something to be pursued. You already have it. It was given to as a gift the day you were born. You experienced it the first time when you gazed upon your mother’s face for the first time.

Happiness exists within each of us. So if there is any pursuit, it is an inward journey. It is waiting within your heart. Some people miss this point when they are pursuing their goal in life. They think that if they get that new car, or larger house that these things hold the final key to their happiness. While these goals are wonderful pursuits and may make a person feel good accomplishing them, they must have unlocked happiness from within.

Can people be truly happy at any point in their life’s journey? Absolutely! Since happiness is something that is contained within you, no one can take it away from you. You can give it away and share it with others, but it never is truly used up. It just fills back up within your soul.

So how can people access this happiness? Part of the key is memories. To remember what it feels like to be happy can bring that feeling in the present. When you close your eyes and think of some event in your past that made you feel blissful, you will find a smile will form on your face automatically.

The other part of the key to unlock happiness is living in the moment. You must live in the NOW. Many things can happen tomorrow or may have even happened yesterday, but you are living right now in this moment. As you focus on the immediate moment, you can create a happy moment. You can CHOOSE to be happy. When you can be in the moment, you can access your right to be happy.

I hope that you will celebrate International Happiness Day. You can learn more at http://www.InternationalHappinessDay.com.

Which Side Of The Road Am I Supposed To Be On?

Monday, July 28th @ 3:43 PMpost viewed 70 times

Years ago, my honey, Robin, and I planned a trip back to his homeland, Australia. Part of that trip entailed me driving. I knew that they drive on the opposite side of the road than Americans do. What I did not pay too much attention to was the fact that the driver’s seat is on the other side of the car.

When we initially arrived in Australia, Robin did most of the driving. Then at the point I decided to take the car, I was sure I knew what I was in store for and got into the car as I normally do at home, just to realize it was not the driver’s side of the car in Australia. It was the passenger side of the car. The steering wheel was on the right. What I thought I knew, I really did not. Even having been in the car with Robin driving, my habits of thought were so set that I still got into the wrong side of the car when I decided to drive.

By the end of our vacation, I was a pro at driving on the other side of the road from the opposite side of the car. It felt awkward, but once I was aware of the rules of driving in a different country, I became more confident and was easily able to navigate my way.

The Law of Attraction is very similar to that experience. Once you figure out how it works, you will be able to navigate through your life more easily and confidently, and be able to get to all of the destinations you wish.

The Law of Attraction states that whatever you put your attention, emotion, and energy into you will attract more of in your life, whether it’s something you want or something you don’t want. Where I put the emphasis is on the emotion. It is the emotional charge you have on a particular subject that is magnetizing more of that to you. Your thoughts are the engine, your emotions are the fuel.

What does that mean? That means every thought and desire you have creates a signal in the Universe and draws that desire to you. That means both positive and negative things. The Universe only provides what you put your attention on.

Once you figure out this simple truth, it is like blinders that have been placed on your eyes are taken away. You come to realize that you are the creator of your life and in complete control over it. When I first sat down in that car in Australia and saw that I was in the wrong seat, I was both relieved and scared at the same time. When you first discover and can see the Universal Law of Attraction working in every aspect of your life, you may experience the same feeling.

The next step of course is to get into that driver’s seat, turn on the car and go. You may be a little unsteady at first, but with every successful turn and navigation from one place to the other, your confidence will build.

You will soon realize another truth; you are exactly in life where you choose to be. Yes. You chose it. Your thoughts brought into your life exactly what you focused upon. Once you realize you are control then you can decide where you want to go next. This law means that you must take responsibility for where you are in order to control where you want to go next.

On my trip I was trying to get to a hotel and got hopelessly lost. I eventually stopped the car, instead of continuing to go in the wrong direction. I did not blame anyone for my plight, because I was the one driving and I was the one who had gotten lost. Once I figured out where I was and where I wanted to go on the map, I turned down the next road that took me right to my destination.

Once you figure out the rules of driving your life and that where you are going and where you end up is directly connected to your desire to go there, then you can relax a little and look at the scenery. Enjoy the trip because you know that you are in control and know without a doubt you will arrive at your destination.
