This was a great interview. I have a Storytelling manual that hasn't been opened...maybe I'll give it a shot!

Most professional speakers claim to make a good living doing their thing, which is, in most cases, a tall tale of it's own. Does Bil Lepp make a full time living at this? How?

Ryan said on Tuesday, December 4th @ 10:19 AM:

I'm not sure if Bil makes a living as a storyteller. I know he has several CDs, which bring him some income. Money mouth But how much? Interesting question...I'll try to find out if he's FT or keeps a day job.

Ryan and Bo - I really enjoyed the interview with Dana. I found everything he said to be interesting and relevant. I even wrote him about his advanced club, to see about starting something like that here, and have approached our team about possibly having him at our conference in the Spring. Great choice of guest!!

What is a shill? No, it's not something you use to off another inmate in prison (that's a "shiv"), it is, however, a way for you to add a new dimension to your speeches and get a reaction from the audience like never before. Join Bo, Ryan and special guest, Kristen Johnson, for a look at this technique.

Loved this episode -- the "flashback" portion had me laughing out loud!

Glad you enjoyed it, Barbara. If you liked the flashback, check out Episode #12 - How It All Began.  Several flashbacks and general tomfoolery!

What a fun idea for a podcast. I feel better now that I know that our district isn't alone in having some, er, interesting characters!

History has proven that effective communication can indeed change the world. How did some of history's most famous politicians use their communication skills to make change? More importantly, how can YOU use these skills to deliver more powerful speeches? Join Bo and Ryan with special guest, Linda McGurk, in this insightful and entertaining discussion.

About Linda: Linda McGurk is a Swedish-American writer, editor and communications specialist who feels just as at home on a desolate island in Southern Thailand as she does in her rural hometown in the American Midwest.

Her journalism career started while still in college, when she landed a job as a news reporter and photographer at a local daily in Sweden. Quickly moving on to more responsibilities, McGurk was trusted to manage a local branch of the paper and learned how to deal with all aspects of the editorial process.

Check out Linda's McGurk Media website to learn more about her work and the services she offers.
