The Friendship Oak

An oak tree on the Mississippi Gulf Coast has witnessed half a millenium of history. A sapling when Columbus came to the new world, it has survived how many natural disasters, such as hurricanes and Camille? How many wars and battles?

It sort of puts things in perspective, eh?
