What you never learned about creating a presentation

Presenting with Power Series kicked off with "Creating a Powerful Presentation", participants walked away with loads of tips, techniques and tools to ensure every presentation is well prepared.

Some of the highlights:

  • Start with having a BRAIN DUMP - meaning get it out of your head and mind map it. I recommend www.mindjet.com.
  • After clearly understanding your PAL (Purpose, Audience, Logisitics), next, begin with the body of your speech.. it's like the meat... or veggies...
  • I recommend three main points with sub points... not paragraphs.
  • Create transitions to keep your presentation flowing.. without smooth transitions your audience will lose interest (all participants received a powerful tool: Speech Planning Worksheet).
  • The next step: THE CLOSING. I shared five ways to open your close and five speech enhancing closes.. my personal favorite - THE APPEAL...
  • Next.. we discussed: THE OPENING...the final part of your speech, it's the frosting on the cake... START WITH A GRABBER.. The easiest grabber on the planet.. ask a question. I broke down everything involved in an opening and five types of openings..

It was a lot of material, but if implemented it can make every single presentation a home run!
