A method for studying emotional experience is simple “self-reports”, which is when an individual is asked to look back at a particular time, day, or period and rate her emotional experience. It’s one of the easiest ways to obtain information, which is probably why most psychologists use this method. The problem, though, is that self-reports turn out to be biased.
